Data is the new oil. Hence, data needs to be protected very well. IT Security Architects design Software and Infrastructure architecture to protect this valuable asset.

Responsibilities

The IT Security Architect supports the CISO in developing a strategy and appropriate architecture to defend the computer infrastructure against Cyber threats. The IT Security Architect also tries to comply to compliance regulations with his architecture.

Skills needed

If you want to become an IT Security Architect, then you should have the following skills:

  • You should know about IT Security architectures and have good knowledge in compliance regulations.
  • Also you need the matching Soft Skills. This includes presentation and communication skills.

Career

As companies try to shift to a data oriented business model, IT Security Architect will get more and more important for organizations. According to Glassdoor an IT Security Architect has an average salary of 166.000$ in the United States.
