These days companies try to roll out software as fast as possible. In order to to meet Cyber Security standards, there is a concept called DevSecOps. In this methodology, DevSecOps Engineers are trying to discover software vulnerabilities during the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

A DevSecOps Engineer has the following responsibilities:

  • Automating Security Tests.
  • Performing Security Audits
  • And supporting developers by defining Secure Coding Guidelines

Skills needed

If you want to become a DevSecOps Engineer, then you should have the following Skills:

  • You should have programming knowledge as well as experience in Software Development
  • You should know common Security flaws in Software
  • You should know Risk assessment and threat modelling
  • And you should have communication skills and be team player

The average DevSecOps Engineer salary in the United States is 140.000$ per year.
